This quarter-Kuwaiti dinar note was introduced by the Central Bank of Kuwait in 1994. It is a brown note that is dated 1968, bears the signatures of Bank Governor Salem Abdul Aziz Sa’ud al-Sabah and Finance Minister Ali al-Khalifa al-Sabah, and measures 110 mm x 68 mm. Its obverse side features the national emblem and a wooden hope chest that is called a Mebayat box. Its reverse side depicts a group of girls playing “drop the hanky”. Security features include a windowed security thread with demetalized KD ¼ and Arabic text and a falcon head watermark. The note was withdrawn in 2015. It is also a superb gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced very minor handling, and has slightly off-center margins and registration. Thus, it is graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
