The Kyrgyzstan 500 Som Banknote from 2000 comes in a limited-edition 4 piece uncut sheet. Its obverse side features an eagle hologram and a portrait of Manas storyteller Sayakbai Karalaev. The reverse side features a seated Karalaev telling a story of Manas the Noble, a horseback fighter with sword and shield, and a golden eagle. Each banknote is 160 x 76 mm in size and contains a windowed security thread with demetalized 500 COM, Kyrgyz text, and ornaments to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of Sayakbai Karalaev with electrotype 500.
