The Kyrgyzstan 500 Som Banknote from 2000 is part of the 1997 - 2005 third series. This limited-edition uncut sheet comes with 8 pieces of banknote that measure 160 x 76 mm each. Its front design depicts a portrait of Manas storyteller Sayakbai Karalaev and an eagle hologram. On the reverse are a golden eagle, a horseback fighter with sword and shield, and a seated Karalaev telling a story of Manas the Noble. The security features of the note include a watermark image of Sayakbai Karalaev with electrotype 500, and a windowed security thread with demetalized 500 COM, Kyrgyz text, and ornaments.
