Laos 20 Kip Banknote, 1979, P-28a, PMG 66

This 20 Lao kip note is part of the first new kip series issued by the Bank of the Lao PDR. It is a reddish-brown note that measures 120 mm x 60 mm. Its obverse side features marching soldiers, a tank, a speed boat in Mekong River, and the coat of arms of Laos. Its reverse side depicts workers in a textile mill. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of a hammer with a sickle and a star. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
