This uncirculated 1,000 Macedonian denar banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the National Bank of Macedonia in 1996. It is a brown banknote that measures 152 mm x 70 mm, bear the signatures of Bank Governor Borko Stanoevski and Deputy Governor Tome Nenovski, and is dated 8 September 1996. Its obverse side shows a bird earring, an icon of an angel, and the Christ child and Madonna Episkepsis from the 14th-century church of Saint Vrachi-Mali in Ohrid. Its reverse side shows the arches from the 11th-century church of Saint Sophia in Ohrid. Security features include a 2-mm wide windowed security thread with demetalized bank initials in Cyrillic text and a watermark of the Virgin Mary.
