The 1,000 Denari banknote is part of the family of notes issued in 2009. It is graded PMG 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty. The obverse of the North Macedonia 1,000 Denari bears a portrait of the Christ child and Madonna Episkepsis as depicted from the 14-century church of Saint Vrachi-Mali in Ohrid. Other designs visible on the front of the note are an earring of a bird and an icon of an angel. The reverse displays Arches from the Saint Sophia church in Ohrid. This 152 x 70 mm paper money has a holographic patch and a 2-mm windowed security thread. Moreover, the note is signed by the National Bank Governor Petar Goshev
