The Macedonia 5,000 Denari Banknote was issued by the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia in 1996. The obverse of the green banknote is in a vertical orientation and features a bird and a Tetovo Maened dancing bronze figurine from the 6th century BC. The vertical-oriented reverse depicts the Mosaic of Cerberus the dog tied to a fig tree from the 6th-century BC Narthex in Great Basilica in Heraklea. The banknote is equipped with a 2-mm windowed security thread with a demetallized Macedonian text and a watermark that reveals Tetovo Maened. The banknote is 156 x 70 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition.
