This note is a specimen of the 100 Malagasy franc note that was introduced by the Central Bank of the Malagasy Republic (Banky Foibenny Repoblika Malagasy/ Banque Centrale de la Republique Malgache) in 1974. The 100 Malagasy franc is equivalent to 20 (roapolo) ariary. Though the note is not dated, it is signed by Bank Governor Leon Maxime Rajaobelina. It has olive green, brown, red, and blue colors and dimensions of 130 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side features a Malagasy man wearing a lamba, flowers, and a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Its reverse side depicts a mountainside village with five Malagasy women planting rice in a paddy and a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Though this note does not have a watermark, it has a faint solid security thread. This banknote has been graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty. It has qualified for PMGs Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ) and is a gem uncirculated note with above average centering.
