This uncirculated 2,000 Malagasy ariary specimen note commemorates the Madagascar Action Plan (MAP), the government campaign to fight poverty and improve the economy. It is a green note that measures 144 mm x 72 mm. Its obverse side contains the date 2007, the signature of Frederic Rasamoely, a MADAGASCAR ACTION PLAN 2007-2012 overprint, a diagonal SPECIMEN overprint, a horizontal red SPECIMEN NO. overprint, and a baobab tree. Its reverse side contains a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint and a view of the terraced rice paddies in Betsileo. Security features include an all-zero serial number, a windowed security thread with demetalized BFM 2000, a map registration device, and a Zebu cattle head watermark with an electrotype 2000. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
