This dark blue and yellow 5,000 Madagascan ariary banknote commemorates the Madagascar Action Plan (MAP), one of the governments campaign to fight poverty and to improve the economy. The note has a special MAP serial number prefix, but the serial number is replaced by an overprint of MADAGASCAR ACTION PLAN 2007-2012. The note also has an overprint of Madagascar naturellement! (Madagascar naturally) on the front watermark area. Its obverse side features two fishing boats sailing on a serene sea at daybreak. The reverse side features the Bay of Fort Dauphin (Taolagnaro). This TAP Authenticated note has holographic stripe, a windowed security thread with demetalized BFM 5000, a watermark of a Zebu cattle head, and an electrotype watermark 5000. The notes dimensions are 150 mm by 75 mm.
