The Madagascar 5,000 Ariary Banknote is a commemorative note issued in 2008 to memorialize the Madagascar Action Plan (MAP), a government campaign to fight poverty and to improve the economy. This specimen banknote is dark blue and green in color which features a windowed security thread with a Zebu cattle head as a watermark. The front side bears the MADAGASCAR ACTION PLAN 2007-2012 overprint, and two fishing boats with sun rays in the background along with the Madagascar naturellement! overprint. The back side shows the map of Madagascar and the beach with houses in the Bay of Fort Dauphin (Taolagnaro). This banknote was given a grade of 66 by the grading company Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
