This uncirculated 500 Malagasy franc banknote is a standard circulation banknote introduced by the Central Bank of Madagascar in 1988. It is a brown, olive green, red, orange, and bluebank note that bears the signature of Richard Randriamaholy, and measures 132 mm x 72 mm. Its obverse side shows a Malagasy boy carrying a pole and a net full of fish and seashells. Its reverse side depicts the national coat of arms and an aerial view of the Port of Toamasina. Security features include a solid security thread with printed ZATO and a watermark of a Zebu cattle head.
