This 20 Malawi kwacha banknote is part of the family of banknotes issued by the Reserve Bank of Malawi from 2014 to 2019. The purple and orange note measures 128 mm long and 64 mm wide. Its obverse side features the Reserve Bank of Malawi headquarters building in Lilongwe, a small image of fishermen in a boat, a fish, and Inkosi ya Makhosi Mmbelwa II (Lazalo Mkhuzo Jere). The reverse side shows the Teachers Training College building, a stack of books and a mortarboard, and the bank logo. The notes security features are the following: a registration device of the map of Malawi, a windowed security thread with demetalized RBM, and watermarks of Lazalo Mkhuzo Jere, electrotype 20, and Cornerstones.
