The Malawi 20 Kwacha banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of Malawi in 2016 in a combination of purple and orange colors. The obverse features fishermen on a boat and a fish on the left, the Reserve Bank of Malawi headquarters building in Lilongwe at the center, and a portrait of Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa II on the right. The reverse of the paper bill depicts the Teachers Training College building and a tree, a stack of books, a mortarboard, the Malawi map, and the bank logo. Security features of the note include a windowed security thread with a demetallized RBM, a watermark that reveals Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa II, an electrotype 20, and Cornerstones. The note is 128 x 64 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. It also carries a radar serial number BA5204025 and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
