Maldives 1,000 Rufiyaa Banknote, 2015, P-31, UNC, Polymer

This uncirculated 1,000 Maldivian rufiyaa note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Maldives Monetary Authority as part of the polymer series. It is a blue polymer note that is dated 5 October 2015, bears the signature of Azeema Adam, and measures 150 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side shows an underprint with the spot and striped pattern of a whale shark skin design, manta rays (Manta alfredi), a green turtle (Chelonia mydas), a luxury resort, and a coral SPARK feature. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and depicts a whale shark (Rhincodon typus). The note has the theme “the beauty in our surroundings”. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a shadow image of the national coat of arms and a denomination registration device.
