Maldives 100 Rufiyaa Banknote, 2015, P-29, UNC

Though the 100 Maldivian rufiyaa banknote was revealed in November 2015, it was introduced and circulated two months later on January 2016. Part of the Randhihafaheh family, the 100 Maldivian rufiyaa has an embossed symbol at the upper left corner of the notes obverse side to aid the sight impaired. The obverse side of the note features an underprint of the Dives akuru (old Dhivehi alphabet), and an image of a woman who is wearing a Libaas and working on the Hiru of a similar dress seated in front of a group of people in traditional attire. The back is vertically oriented and features the Dambidu Lomafanu, an early Dhivehi scripture. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of the shadow image of the coat of arms and has an embossed symbol in pearlescent ink on both sides of the note. The note is also made of Safeguard polymer substrate and measures 150 mm by 70 mm.
