The Maldives 20 Rufiyaa Banknote was issued by the Maldives Monetary Authority in 2008 or 1430 in the Hijri Calendar. The red banknote bears Maldivian text on the front and English text on the back. Its obverse features cowrie shells, a bunch of coconuts, and a dhivehi odi (boat) in full sail. The reverse of the paper bill depicts the wharf in the inner harbor of Male with boats. The banknote contains a solid security thread with a demetallized MMA and a watermark that shows the coat of arms. The note was printed by De La Rue and is 150 x 70 mm in size. It bears the signature of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
