The Maldives 5 Rufiyaa Banknote was issued by the Maldives Monetary Authority in 1983. On the obverse of this violet banknote are cowrie shells. a bunch of coconuts. and a dhivehi odi (boat) in full sail. The reverse depicts three lateen-rigged dhoanis with a tuna fishermen. The note contains a solid security thread and a watermark that reveals the coat of arms of the Maldives. It is 150 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Governor Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
