The Maldives 5 Rufiyaa Banknote was issued by the Maldives Monetary Authority in 2017, printed on polymer. The banknote has a combination of gray and red colors and bears Maldivian and English texts. Its obverse features a fish decoration, a standing man playing a traditional drum for a dancing crowd, and two men playing football (soccer). It also has an underprint of traditional drum (boduberu) bedroom designs. The reverse depicts a seashell. The banknote does not contain a security thread. Its shadow image watermark reveals the coat of arms of the Maldives. It is 150 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Azeema Adam. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60 to 70.
