The Mauritania 50 Ouguiya Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Mauritania in 2017, printed on polymer. The purple banknote bears Arabic and French texts. Its obverse features the Great Mosque Ibn Abbas in Nouakchott. It also shows a star and a crescent moon, and an open book on a stand. The reverse depicts a circle and a heart underprint, a metal coffee pot, stringed musical instruments, and an open book on a stand. The banknote does not contain a security thread but has a shadow image watermark. The banknote is 130 x 65 mm in size and is signed by Abdel Aziz Ould Dahi. This polymer banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
