The Mauritius 500 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Bank of Mauritius in 2007. Its obverse side bears English, Hindi, and Tamil text, the Mauritian coat of arms, a portrait of Sookdeo Bissoondoyal, the Bank of Mauritius building facade, a picture of Justice with a sword and scales, and a silver foil oval. Its reverse side depicts a view of the University of Mauritius in Reduit. Security features of the note include a conch shell registration device, a windowed security thread with demetalized BANK OF MAURITIUS, and a watermark of a dodo bird’s head. The orange banknote is 155 mm x 74 mm in size and is signed by Bank Governor Rundheersing Bheenick, First Deputy Governor Yandraduth Googoolye, and Second Deputy Governor Ahmad Jameel Khadaroo. It is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
