This uncirculated 1,000 Mexican peso banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Mexico as part of the 1983 UY series. It is a brown banknote that is dated 13 March 1983, bear the signatures of Gonzalo Garcia Rodriguez and Miguel Mancera Aquayo, and measures 157 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side honors Sor Juana de Asbaje, the first female theologian of the Americas. Its reverse side contains a bank guilloche, the Bank of Mexico seal, and a view of the Plaza de Santo Domingo in Mexico City. Security features of the note include a solid security thread with printed BANXICO MIL PESOS and a watermark of Juana de Asbaje.
