The Mexico 20 Pesos Banknote was issued by the Bank of Mexico in 2022 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Independence. Featured on the obverse is a work of art by an anonymous author, "Solemne and peaceful entry of the Army of the Three Guarantees to Mexico City on September 27 of the memorable year of 1821". It also shows the Army Flag of the Three Guarantees and the Flag of Mexico. The reverse depicts a mangrove ecosystem with the Mexican crocodile. It also displays the chocolate heron in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, in Quintana Roo. It does not contain a security thread. Its watermark is a clear window with the denomination. It is 120 x 65 mm in size and is signed by Alejandro Alegre Rabiela and Jonathan Heath Constable. This commemorative banknote is printed on polymer and is in uncirculated condition. Additionally, it has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60 to 70.
