The Mexico 200 Pesos banknote with series A was issued by the Bank of Mexico in 2008 to commemorate the country's 200 years of Independence. This banknote comes in green and pink colors and measures 141 x 66 mm in size. The obverse side features Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla with a banner, from Jesus Enrique Emilio de la Helguera Evans’ painting “Don Miguel Hidalgo”, a church bell in OVI, and the map of Mexico as a registration device. The banknote's reverse also depicts the map of Mexico, the bank seal, a stylized bright red cap (symbol of freedom), and the Angel of Independence, on Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City. This paper bill bears a Windowed Motion security thread with printed 200 and demetalized bell, and a watermark that shows the Angel of Independence with electrotype 200. The banknote was printed by BANCO DE MEXICO and signed by Raul Valdes Ramos and Guillermo Ortiz Martinez. This particular Mexico 200 Pesos banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60 to 70.
