This coin set includes 8 pieces of Mexican coins in 5, 10, 20, and 50 centavos, and 1, 2, 5, and 10 pesos denominations. These coins were issued by the Banco de Mexico in 2002. Featured on their obverse side is the coat of arms of Mexico depicting a Mexican golden eagle on a pear cactus preying on a snake. Underneath it is a half-wreath made of oak and laurel. The reverse of each coin shows the denomination, the year, and a stylized design that stands for the Solar Rays, the Ring on the Sacrifice, the Reed, the Ring of Acceptance, the Ring of Splendor, the Ring of Days, the Ring of the Serpents, and the Aztec Sun Stone on the Aztec calendar stone.
