This bimetallic 5 Mexican peso coin is part of the Centenary of Revolution series, a series of commemorative coins issued by the Bank of Mexico to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution. It highlights Mariano Matamoros, a Mexican Roman Catholic priest who fought as a rebel soldier during the Mexican War of Independence. His bust is featured on one side of the coin. The other side of the coin bears the national emblem of Mexicoa Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus eating a snake. The coin weighs 7.07 g and has a diameter of 25.5 mm. It is in mint condition. It also has an aluminum-bronze center and a stainless steel outer ring.
