This uncirculated 1,000 Mozambican metical banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Mozambique in 1983. It is a red, orange, and brown banknote that is dated 16 June 1980 and measures 140 mm x 68 mm. Its obverse side depicts the FRELIMO monument, the national coat of arms, and the first president Samora Moises Machel with four young boys. Its reverse side depicts miners and farmers. Security features include a solid security thread and a watermark of Samora Moises Machel. The banknote was demonetized in 2012.
