The Mozambique 5,000 Meticais Banknote was released by the Bank of Mozambique in 1991 in a combination of purple, red, brown, and green. The obverse of the note depicts a portrait of Samora Machel, the coat of arms of Mozambique, and the Frelimo monument in Maputo. The reverse features the bank logo and four workers in a steel foundry. The paper bill contains a solid security thread with printed MOCAMBIQUE and a watermark that reveals Joaquim Chissano. The note is 144 x 70 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. It bears a radar serial number CB6097906 and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
