The Mozambique 50 Meticais banknote is part of the 1980 issues. It is brown in color and measures 140 x 68 mm. The obverse side shows a Portuguese text, seven soldiers marching with bayonets on rifles, mobile missile systems. the coat of arms, trucks towing artillery pieces, and Samora Mois Machel delivering Mozambique flag to detachment of guerrillas. The reverse side features a Portuguese text, a bank logo with hoe and pickaxe, a soldier inspecting rifle, trees, and soldiers hiking with rifles and knapsacks. This banknote uses a solid security thread and contains a watermark with a Bust of Samora Mois Machel design.
