This brown 50 metical banknote from Mozambique is part of the first series of metical banknotes issued by the Bank of Mozambique in 1980. The note was demonetized in 2012. Its obverse side contains three military scenes: seven soldiers with bayonet-rifles marching forward, the mobile missile systems, and Samora Moises Machel delivering the Mozambique flag to a detachment of guerrillas. Its reverse side depicts a soldier training scene. The security features of the note include a solid security thread and a watermark of the bust of Samora Machel. The note measures 140 mm long and 68 mm wide.
