The 2 New Zealand dollar note is part of the first decimalized family of notes issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand from 1968 to 1975. It has mauve, orange, green, and red colors and dimensions of 145 mm x 73 mm. Its front side features Anthony Buckleys picture of Queen Elizabeth II wearing Queen Alexandras Kokoshnik tiara, King George VIs festoon necklace, and Queen Marys floret earrings. Its reverse side features a mistletoe flower (Perazilla tetrapetala) and a rifleman bird (Acanthisitta chloris), locally known as the titipounamu. Security features of the note include a solid yellow security thread and a watermark of Captain James Cook. Because this note is a specimen, it has an all-zero serial number and diagonal red SPECIMEN overprints on both sides. It is also in uncirculated condition and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
