The North Macedonia 500 Denari banknote is part of the 2003-2016 Issues. It is orange in color and measures 148 x 70 mm. The obverse side features a hook-shaped earring, a gold foil patch, a golden tin death mask from the 6th century BC necropolis of Trebenita near Ohrid. The reverse side shows a poppy (Papaveraceae) blossom and flowering plants. This TAP Authenticated banknote bears a 2-mm windowed security thread with demetalized Cyrillic text. It also uses a watermark with a death mask design.
