The Oman quarter rial banknote was issued by the Oman Currency Board in 1973. This banknote has hints of blue and brown. Featured on its obverse is the coat of arms of Oman depicting two crossed swords and a khanjar or a dagger. The back of the paper bill depicts the Jalali Fort in Muscat. It measures 128 x 58 mm and bears a solid security thread. It also has a watermark that shows the national emblem.
