The Oman 1 Rial Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Oman in 2015 to commemorate the 45th National Day and the Sultan’s birthday. The obverse of the purple banknote features Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the coat of arms of Oman showing crossed swords and a dagger (khanjar). The reverse of the note depicts flowers, a dagger, dessert white butterflies, the 45th National Day logo, and the Sultan Qaboos University in the Muscat Governate. The banknote’s security features include a khanjar registration device, a two-tone windowed security thread, and a watermark that reveals the sultan. The note is 140 x 71 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. This particular paper bill has a printing error and has been TAP authenticated.
