The Oman 1 Rial banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Oman in 2015 to commemorate the 45th National Day. The obverse side shows a portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the coat of arms with crossed swords and khanjar (dagger), Al Alam Palace in Muscat, and a khanjar as a registration device. The reverse side features flowers, a khanjar, the Desert white butterflies (Pontia glauconome), the 45th National Day logo, and the Sultan Qaboos University in Al Khoudh in the Muscat Governorate. The banknote contains a windowed security thread and a watermark that reflects the sultan. The purple banknote measures 140 x 71 mm and is signed by Sultan Qaboos bin Said. This commemorative banknote is in uncirculated and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
