The Oman 1 Rial error banknote is part of the 2015 issues. It is purple in color and measures 140 x 71 mm. The obverse side shows a portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the coat of arms with crossed swords and khanjar (dagger), Al Alam Palace in Muscat, and a khanjar as a registration device. The reverse side features flowers, a khanjar, the Desert white butterflies (Pontia glauconome), the 45th National Day logo, and the Sultan Qaboos University in Al Khoudh in the Muscat Governorate. This banknote uses a two-tone windowed security thread and contains a watermark with a sultan design. The note is part of the variety that had an error in the date printed. It is in uncirculated condition and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
