The Oman 1 Rial Silver 5 Pieces Coin Set was issued in 2011 to showcase the Royal Opera House which was officially opened in October of that same year. The obverse of these round silver coins shows the National Emblem of Oman which consists of a dagger (khanjar) and two crossed swords. The reverse of each coin bears the Royal Opera House exterior; violin and tambourine; horns, flute, and sax; and tambourine, horns, and strings, respectively. All of the coins from this set have a diameter of 38.61 mm.
