The Oman 50 Rials Banknote is part of the Central Bank of Oman’s 2010 issues introduced to commemorate the 40th National day. Its obverse features Sultan Qaboos bin Said along with a crown in green SPARK and the Ministry of Finance and Economy building. It also shows the Mirani Fort, the coat of arms of Oman depicting crossed swords and a khanjar (dagger), and the main entrance of the CBO headquarters. The reverse depicts the Cabinet building the Ministry of Commerce and Industry building, the 40th National day logo, and a crown. The note contains a varifye thread and a windowed security thread with a demetallized 50 RIALS. It also has a registration device in the form of a crown and watermark that reveals the sultan and an electrotype 50. The note is 174 x 76 mm in size and bears the signature of Sultan Qaboos bin Said. This commemorative banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
