The Oman 50 Rial Banknote from 2010 was issued to commemorate the countrys 40th National Day. Its obverse side features the Ministry of Finance and Economy building, the main entrance of the CBO headquarters building, Mirani fort, a portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, a crown in green SPARK as registration device, and the coat of arms with crossed swords and khanjar. The reverse side features the Cabinet building, Ministry of Commerce and Industry building, the 40th National Day logo, and a crown. The note is 174 x 76 mm in size and is equipped with a varifeye thread, and windowed security thread with demetalized 50 RIALS to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would show a watermark of the Sultan and electrotype 50.
