This 2 Papua New Guinean kina note is dated 2013 and signed by Governor Loi Martin Bakani and Secretary of the Department of Treasury Simon Tossali. It is a green polymer note that measures 140 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side features the coat of arms of Papua New Guinea and the National Parliament building in Port Moresby. Its reverse side shows a Mount Hagan axe, a Kula armband, an engraved dogs’ tooth necklace, a Sepik clay pot, and tapa cloth designs. Because the note is made of polymer, it does not have a security thread. However, it has a shadow image of the bank logo as its watermark. The note is a superb gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced very minor handling, and has slightly off-center margins and registration. Thus, it is graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
