The Papua New Guinea 50 Kina banknote is part of the 1989 issues. It is orange in color and measures 150 x 75 mm. The obverse side shows the coat of arms with the bird of paradise perched on a Kundu drum and a ceremonial spear, and the National Parliament building in Port Moresby. The reverse side features Prime Minister Michael Somare, spears from Sepik, a shield and a mask from New Ireland, a leaf and pointed Tubuan face mask from New Britain, a headdress from the Highlands, and a mask and costume from Sepik River. This banknote uses a solid security thread printed PAPUA NEW GUINEA and contains a watermark with a bank logo design. It is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guarantee (PMG).
