Papua New Guinea 50 Toea Coin, 1998, KM #41, Mint

This copper nickel 50 Toea coin commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Bank of Papua New Guinea. It is in mint condition. The obverse side depicts the date and the coat of arms of Papua New Guinea: a traditional spear and kundu drum under a bird-of-paradise. The reverse side contains a stylized paradise bird, the denomination, and the phrase Silver Jubilee, 1973-1998 Bank of Papua New Guinea. The coin is an equilateral curve heptagon with a diameter of 30 mm, thickness of 2.65 mm, and weight of 13.63 g. The coin also has milled edges.
