The Peru 20 Soles banknote is part of the series issued in 2016 bearing the name of Perus new currency sol (sun) instead of nuevo sol (new sun). The obverse of the note features Peruvian historian and diplomat Raul Porras Barrenechea who became the President of the Senate. The reverse of the note displays the Chan Chan archeological complex, the Chimu pottery vessel of a cat, and the National Emblem. This 140 x 65 mm paper currency has a demetallized Peru 20 BCRP on its solid security thread. It also has a portrait of Raul Porras Barrenechea, a pixelated open book, and an electrotype 20 as its watermarks.
