The 2,000 Philippine Piso Banknote from 1998 was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Philippine independence in 1998. Its obverse side features the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas seal, the Malolos Constitution scroll, the Barasoain Roman Catholic church in Malolos City, Bulacan, and former President Joseph Estrada taking the oath of the presidency on June 1998. The reverse side features the Philippine centennial logo, and former President Fidel Valdez Ramos waving the national flag to celebrate the centennial of independence on 12 June 1998 at Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite. The note is 216 x 133 mm in size and is equipped with a Windowed security thread to enhance its security features. A shadow image of Estrada and Ramos and the year 1898-1998 is also made visible under a UV light.
