Philippines 500 Piso Banknote, 2012, P-214B, UNC, Commemorative, TAP Authenticated

The Philippines 500 Piso Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines in 2012 to commemorate the 45th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank. The banknote comes in a combination of yellow, orange, and black. The obverse of the note bears a “Black Manila 2012 45th Annual Meeting of the BOARD OF GOVERNORS Asian Development Bank Manila, Philippines 2-3 May 2012” overprint. It also depicts Benigno Simeon “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr, a dove with an olive branch in its beak, the national flag, the bank seal, a palm frond, and Aquino’s manual typewriter. The reverse of the note depicts Aquino holding a pen and a camera, four people holding hands, a woman with a basket and a child giving flowers to soldiers with machine guns. The reverse also displays a student and a teacher with an open book, the Tarlac Capitol building, and the Conception Municipal building in Tarlac. The banknote contains a solid and a windowed security thread with a demetallized 500. It also has a watermark that reveals Benigno Aquino Jr. The banknote is 160 x 66 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
