The Philippines 500 Piso Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines in 2020. Its obverse side shows the denomination as a gold-to-green rolling bar SPARK feature, a portrayal of the crowd at EDSA People Power I in February 1986, the seal of the Philippine president, the Central Bank seal, and portraits of former president Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino and Benigno Simeon “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. Its reverse side depicts the Philippine map, a blue-naped parrot (Tanygnathus lucionensis), and the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. Security features include a 4-mm wide gold-to-jade windowed security thread with a demetalized BSP/500 and a watermark of Corazon and Benigno Aquino with an electrotype 500. The yellow banknote bear the signatures of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Central Bank Governor Benjamin Estoista Diokno and measures 160 mm x 66 mm. The banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
