This uncirculated 1,000 Portuguese escudo note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Portugal. It is a purple, dark brown, and multicolored note that is dated 3 March 1994, bear the signatures of Bernardino Manuel da Costa Pereira and Luis Miguel Couceiro Pizzaro Beleza, and measures 162 mm × 75 mm. Its obverse side features Joaquim Teofilo Fernandez Braga. Its reverse side shows museum artifacts in the Machado de Castro Museum in Coimbra. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of Teofilo Braga. Additionally, the note was demonetized in 1997.
