The Qatar 1 Riyal Banknote was issued by the Qatar Central Bank in 2008. The banknote is in a color combination of blue, brown, and purple. Its obverse features the coat of arms of Qatar depicting a dhow, palm trees, and crossed swords. The reverse of the note depicts native birds: a crested lark, a Eurasian bee-eater, and a lesser sand plover. The banknote’s security features include a solid security thread and a windowed security thread with a demetallized QCB 1. It also bears a watermark that reflect the head of a falcon and an electrotype 1 in Arabic. It is also signed by Ali Shareef Al Emadi and Abdullah Saud Al-Thani. The note is 134 x 66 mm in size and bears a repeating serial number. It has also been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
