Tokelau is a South Pacific, Polynesian nation with about 1500 people. It is a dependency of New Zealand and as such, recognizes Queen Elizabeth as the head of State. Some organizations classify it as a territory and some as a state. What is clear is that Tokelau is a beautiful set of 3 atolls made up completely of beach front property. The total land mass is less than 4 square miles with the land sandwiched between the ocean and an interior body of water. Tokelau uses New Zealand currency, but does license its country name to be used on collectible and precious metal gold and silver coins. Like many small tropical islands, the coins show off the beauty of the birds, flowers and general nature of the country. And because they are linked to the English Commonwealth, a portrait of the Queen is shown on their coins.
