Tuvalu is a Polynesian island nation to the north of most of the other South Pacific tropical nations. With about 11,000 inhabitants it doesn’t have its own paper banknotes but instead uses Australia polymer banknotes. It does mint its own coins which have local aquatic animals including turtles, an octopus, sharks and crabs on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other. Tuvalu also issues precious metal silver collectible coins that have QEII on one side.
